Going My Home

Japanese: ゴーイングマイホーム (Oct 9 2012)

This series will probably be the main reason to delay my imminent suicide and give me at least 4-6 more months to live. Just kidding but jokes are meant to be broken.

Imagine Abe Hiroshi teaming up with Long Vacation’s (my all-time favorite drama) lead star Yamaguchi Tomoko and it’s like Dream Team 1992 over again.  The truth is recently my interest with AH has plummeted, perhaps I’m already here in China (and no it’s not because of the Diaoyu/Senkaku islands dispute) and  I have to worry about real-life problems.

Unfortunately, the plot contains some supernatural elements, something about finding a mysterious creature called “cuna” but I guess it’s basically a Little Price-type metaphor for believing things which are invisible to the naked eye. I am not really sure though, so I’ll update this page once I get more info.

Update:

Just finished watching the 1st 2 episodes and I would say that this is already one of the best family dramas ever. Great casting and chemistry especially of ‘weird’ girl who plays the daughter of Abe and Yamaguchi. This is like a mix of “At Home Dad” and “Aruitemo Aruitemo.” The OST “Yotsuba no Kuroba”(4-leaf Clover) by Makihara Noriyuki gives this a tinge of the epic ‘Kita no Kuni Kara.”
